Flash Books

Have you heard about our Flash Books service?  Using our book printing robot, we can print a 300-page book in less than five minutes from a catalog of around 3 million titles.

The robot is called the Espresso Book Machine and it is located at our Grace Mellman Library in Temecula. Just this week we added a new catalog to the front page of our website that you can use to browse for books and request that we print them. We hope that you will take time and browse the catalog. There’s a lot of stuff there and some of it is really cheap.

We don’t have credit card capability quite yet, so if you request a book, we will send you an e-mail asking if you’d like to either buy the book or check it out from the library. If you want to buy it, we will arrange for payment and where to pick up the item. Or you can request that we print the book for the library collection so that you can check it out. Either way, we’ll get the book to you in a couple of days.

The books look just like any paperbacks you would buy from a bookstore, and often better since they are printed on high-quality bond paper.

This amazing technology was made possible by a grant from the California State Library. The Riverside County Library is the first library in the United States to use this machine in daily operation in a library.

So, go ahead, click on the Flash Books logo and take a look. Who knows what you’ll find?
