Graduation and Other Things!
Okay. So I’ve graduated from Strayer University. BIG WooT!
I now know firsthand what a BIG step it is in getting your Bachelor’s degree, and it was definitely no easy task. I struggled for years to decide what I wanted to do with my life and here at my age, I finally managed to settle it. I’m always touting to the teens how important it is to get a college education, a higher point of learning – something no one should ever stop doing. And now I’ve done it myself.
Having that little acknowledgement not only takes a person to where they've never been, but it lets them experience things they never thought possible. Now that *I’ve* done it, where should I go from here?
To the moon I hope!
I am proud of the fact that I managed to prove my resilience. I am ready to bravely face the great opportunities that I otherwise might not have had without a degree. I am equally prepared to demonstrate to my teens just what I can do once I am able to fully wield it.
I am looking forward to the challenges: What can I do? Where can I go? What door will be opened for me next?
I am curious about opportunities; I can be what I always wanted to be. I know I am worth it now; I have a certificate that validates it.
I am prepared for the future. Whatever I can accomplish in future days will be because I have achieved what I never thought possible, what my family could not believe I finally obtained.
These thoughts are continuing to run through my head - as well as the speech I prepared for any teen that is afraid of taking that step towards a higher education. There are lots of things to accomplish, to keep one going when all seems lost. What keeps the heart warm and the mind free and clear of the cobwebs is – never stop learning!
So to those who feel all is lost, I must impress upon them the resilience to be compliant and with what keeps them stagnant, using another set of three simple words:
GO FOR IT!!
Until next time,
~Miss Sue
