Jump Start!
Hello all!
As part of Young Adult Group, responsible for being up-to-date with the latest young adult happens and sharing it with fellow library workers, I will help present at the annual Jump Start program at Temecula Public Library on March 26th at 10am.
At this presentation, we, along with the Riverside County Library System Youth Group, will talk about the summer reading program that's available locally and nationally. My segment at Jump Start is during the YA presentation, and will introduce the types of reading programs and programming that anyone can have for their young adults (or adults) at their locations.
This year's main theme is water, and the young adult's summer reading program is called "Make Waves @ Your Library." Some ideas that I will discuss are having days of fun in the sun and cooling off in the shade with the type of programs that only a teen could truly appreciate! If you are interested in knowing exactly what I'll be presenting, keep an ear and eye out here for pictures and a blog or two about it. If you just can't wait, go to your nearest library and ask what's up for their summer. If they aren't doing much, volunteer to help out. It don't cost much but your time and effort will be appreicated!
That said, I guess I should work on what I'll be talking about. Let's see... I'm all set with my Hawaiian shirt... sponges... spray bottles... paint... and Caribbean music! How about you??
Until next time!
~Miss Sue
